Endling: Stories from the End of the World

by Dimitris Gkikas (Greece)

Genre: Experimental

Endling is an ongoing multimedia science fiction narrative. The first part of the work chronicles the events that led to the extinction of all species and it introduces the only survivor: Mnemosyne Unit-01, a mech hypercreature developed by humans to contain the DNA of all living organisms–like a contemporary Noah’s ark. The narrative begins with the website of a fictional operating system (Utopia-2130). Once downloaded, the narrative continues within the application, which, when completed, leads the player on to a website containing a 3D model of the hypercreature.

Platform: Your work needs to be visited (online/onsite; e.g. a performance/installation) and provides a documentation.
