God's Hand

God's Hand - Trailer (2021)

by Creator Goosy (Japan)

Genre: Mobile Game

God's Hand" is a game app for smartphones that allows to play interactively while enjoying the story and graphics like a short animation. As the title suggests, the player has "God's Hand" and can control the outcome of the dinosaurs at will. The story unfolds from the point of view of God as the player tries to save the dinosaurs from the brink of extinction. The gameplay is very simple and intuitive: tap to destroy meteorites flying from space, drag to collect eggs, and so on. The fate of the dinosaurs depends on the player, such as when they become extinct. And if you can protect the dinosaurs, the player has achieved the goal. This game was created with "the distance between the game and the player" in mind, based on the philosophy of emphasizing concepts and statements without necessarily focusing on playing. For example, there are many scenes in this work that do not affect the progress of the game itself. This is intended to maintain a certain distance between the player's operation and the game world. The intention is to convey the concept and statement of the game through the medium of "game" without being influenced by the individual player's experience as much as possible. This work was created by CREATOR GOOSY, an indie game studio by Ryu Okubo, who works mainly in illustration and animation, and Sugimoto Ryousuke, who specializes in motion graphics and CG. The studio sees games as an extension of the culture that has influenced them, including art, illustration, animation, music, and film, and aims to reinterpret the existing forms surrounding games to create a freer expression.
